Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD)

J&R Contracting is one of New Zealand’s foremost operators in thrusting up to 630 mm PE pipe to tight grades.

Our experienced operators are skilled at protecting existing underground services through hand digging and hydro excavation.

HDD work includes installations for power, telecommunications, water, and wastewater networks, and we are an approved contractor to Vector, Auckland Transport, Watercare, WEL Networks, Ventia, and Downer — reflecting our ability to meet recognised industry standards.

Drainage and Utilities

When trenching is required or HDD is not suitable, J&R provides full drainage and utility installation services.

Our qualified Drainlayers and Watermain Technicians install and connect water, sewer, and stormwater networks for public infrastructure, subdivisions, and private developments.

Typical work includes installing manholes, pits, and fittings, along with reinstatement and quality assurance.

Traffic Management

J&R Contracting operates an internal traffic management division to support safe project delivery.

This enables us to plan, set up, and manage temporary traffic management systems for a variety of sites, maintaining safety and compliance across all operations.
